As a min what sort of a yield should I be looking at for my first rental properties?

It actually really depends on the country, city size and much more.

but I guess in general you should look at around 3-8% yearly yields (Return on your investment)

    For example:

If you bought a property for $100,000
You should expect around $5000 per year to return which is 6%.

I guess it's very general, but still.
