I hear a lot about Amex points and cards but has anyone actually found an alternative which offers better value and rewards?

Yep for business the Santander Cashback Credit Card is better.

The annual fee is really low, there is no spending fees on foreign transactions either, uses the Mastercard exchange rate with no mark up and you get 1% cashback on all transactions (unlike Amex, Mastercard is accepted in so many more places).

For personal use, not really though the Amex Rewards Credit Card (with no annual fee) is the best personal card in my opinion. Followed by maybe the Tandem Cashback Credit Card which has no annual fee and gives 0.50% back on all transactions, it is a MasterCard so can be used when your Amex isn't accepted.

Also accounts like the Halifax Reward, Natwest Reward and Barclays Reward accounts do often offer much higher cashback rates but only for specific retailers. Depends how many cards you want to carry around :D
